The purpose of the Home Page

The Home page is displayed when you first start ModMaster. This page provides access to all of the functions within the software. 

 

Identifying page names

Each page name is identified in white text on a blue background near the upper left corner of each page. The text is a hyperlink which you can click for information about the page.

 

Menu links/navigation

You can navigate to sub-menus within the system by following the menu links such as "Mod Data," "Reports and Graphs," "What-If Analysis," etc. You can also navigate directly to a desired function by using the pull-down menu that is located at the top of every ModMaster page.

 

Toolbar functions

A toolbar is displayed on each ModMaster page. Although the buttons vary depending on what page you are on, most toolbars have the following buttons:

  • Home - returns you to the home page

  • Previous - takes you to the previous page

  • Print - prints the current page

  • Calculate - calculates the currently selected mod file

  • Next - takes you to the next logical page in the data entry sequence

Other toolbar buttons are explained in the documentation for their respective pages.

 

The "I want to" pull-down list

Each page has an "I want to" pull-down list which links you to additional help, both within the software and on the web. Simply select the desired option to display the desired topic. Internet access is required for some options. 

 

The active file box

The active file name is displayed on a pale yellow background in the upper right area of each page. On the Home page, the active file box is a pull-down menu so that you can select an existing mod file. You can also select a mod file by clicking "Mod Data" from the Home page and "Select a file" on the subsequent page. New files are created through the Mod Data/Create a file function.

 

Mod Data link

The Mod Data link takes you to the Mod Data page, where you must create or select a file before you can navigate to the setup, payroll and loss pages for that file.

 

Reports & Graphs link

The Reports and Graphs link takes you to the Reports and Graphs page where you can select from numerous preformatted reports and graphs.

 

What-If Analysis link

The What-If Analysis link takes you to the What-If Analysis page where you can choose from three different tools, including the Formula Calculator, the Mod Forecaster, and the Deductible Analyzer.

 

System Administration link

The System Administration link takes you to the System Administration page where you can view or maintain system data, including

  • Cause of loss data

  • ERA status

  • Injury types

  • Rating data

and also system settings and functions including

  • System preferences

  • Who's on

  • Free locks

  • Compact/repair

 

File Utilities link

The File Utilities link takes you to the Utilities page where you can perform the following functions:

  • Rollover a file

  • Copy a file

  • Rename a file

  • Delete a file

  • Archive a file

  • Import data

  • Export data

The "New to ModMaster" link on the Home page brings you to information on our web site to help users new to ModMaster and/or experience rating get started. The link below the "New to ModMaster" link may change when the software is updated to reflect new software or experience rating information that may interest you.

ModMaster version information and update level is indicated in the lower left corner of the Home page and most pages of ModMaster. A link to the ModMaster update page on our web site is also provided. Note that we email all registered users when a new update is available.

This page can be printed with no right-margin overflow by using the Page Setup command
to set the left margin to 1.0 and the right margin to 0.5 inches.
