Import Specification

 Pennsylvania/Delaware Import Specifications 

The user should prepare four files in Microsoft Excel 97-2003 format for importing PA/DE data into ModMaster:

File 1, the setup file, will contain policy information (see setup file specification). It can optionally have a file name of basenameC.xls for compatibility with prior versions of ModMaster.

File 2, the payroll file, will contain payroll information (see payroll file specification). It can optionally have a file name of basenameP.xls for compatibility with prior versions of ModMaster.

File 3, the Part I loss file, will contain Part I loss information (see Part I loss file specification). It can optionally have a file name of basenameS.xls for compatibility with prior versions of ModMaster.  

File 4, the Part II loss file, will contain Part II loss information (see Part II loss file specification). It can optionally have a file name of basenameL.xls for compatibility with prior versions of ModMaster.

The setup file has the following specifications. Note that this file should contain field names on the first row and then one row of actual data.  Sample PA/DE setup file

  The policy # columns should be formatted as text. If any of these values are entirely numeric and are keyed directly into Excel, they should be preceded with the ' character.

  The PAYROLL CODE column should be formatted as text. If the PAYROLL CODE data is keyed directly into Excel, it should be preceded with the ' character.

You must be on update 10.05, code level 100614 or later, to import the NOTES field.

Once you have prepared these files in the spreadsheet program of your choice, save them in Microsoft Excel 97-2003 format. Then import them into ModMaster by using the "Data for PA/DE calculation from Excel workbook" import option of the Utilities/Import feature. 

This page can be printed with no right-margin overflow by using the Page Setup command
to set the left margin to 1.0 and the right margin to 0.5 inches.
