 Here's the File You Need

This file is only for a networked client/server installation, not a standalone PC.

You will need to find it on your desktop or other folder and double-click it to start the installation.

When prompted, enter the install password which you received from us in an email. Please review our email recommendations if you're not getting emails from us.

If a version of ModMaster 2000 is detected on the server, the installation directory should default to the mm2000 folder, but override as necessary to indicate where ModMaster 2000 is installed. If the server has never had ModMaster installed or ModMaster is not detected for some reason, it will default to the modmaster folder. You can override these defaults if necessary by clicking the "Browse" button and navigating to or specifying the desired folder. Note that the system is designed to replace the old ModMaster, not for both versions to simultaneously coexist. Do NOT attempt to run the old and new versions off of the same server, and do NOT attempt to configure a client PC with access to both old and new versions.

1.4 Finish the base install.

As the install proceeds, many files are copied and any ModMaster 2000 data files are backed up in the unlikely event that the install fails and a restore of ModMaster 2000 is required.

2.1 - 2.3 Download and run the update

When the base install is complete, you will be taken to the Update page to download the latest update. Full instructions are on that page.

3.1 Run the client install in order to install ModMaster on each desired client workstation.

You will need to run the MMClientInstall.exe file in the network ModMaster or MM2000 folder in order to install certain local components on each client PC. Following this installation, the client should be able to run ModMaster. Any ModMaster updates that you later apply to the server will be automatically detected by the client.

3.2 Select client install options/verify the client installation path.

If a version of ModMaster 2000 is detected on the PC, the installation directory should default to the mm2000 folder. If this PC has never had ModMaster installed, it will default to the modmaster folder. You can override these defaults if necessary by clicking the "Browse" button and navigating to or specifying the desired folder.

If the client does not have a physical hard drive, be sure to specify the client/user's private workspace as the installation path.

3.3 Finish the client install.

Verify that the version, level and update information is the same as what is on the Update page. Verify that the data path is the correct network path where you installed the network/server portion of ModMaster. All of this information is in the bottom left corner of the Home page.

If you have difficulties with installing or running the ModMaster client, keep in mind that users must have read/write/create/delete privileges to the ModMaster network folder.
