The Large Loss page has numerous optional fields which can be utilized with certain reports to give you greater analysis capabilities. While all of the optional fields are shown on several reports, three particular fields give you unique sorting and grouping options:

  • The cause of loss field is user-definable but typically used to indicate the cause of a loss, such as failure to follow procedure, repetitive motion injury, etc. This data can be chosen from the pull-down list (which is user-maintained through the Cause of Loss option on the System Administration page) or typed directly into the text box.

  • The injury type field is user-definable but typically used to indicate the type of injury, such as ankle, back, wrist, etc.. This data can be chosen from the pull-down list (which is user-maintained through the Injury Type option on the System Administration page) or typed directly into the text box.

  • The loss identifier field is user-definable and often used for information such as a social security number, location or department, etc. It must be typed directly into the text box.

Each of the three fields listed above has two reports, one text and one bar graph, which sorts and groups by that particular field. Through these reports you can see trends in the data, such as certain types of injuries or causes of loss being more common, or certain locations or individuals having an unusually high incident of injuries. View the videos below for more examples of each report.
