Cause of loss

view the video clip

Use this page to view or edit cause of loss values for use in the optional field pull-down list on the large loss page.  All cause of loss values listed on the cause of loss page will be available in the pull-down list for the cause of loss field on the large loss page. This list is provided for the user's convenience and to assure consistent data entry, however, use of the list is not required. The user can also directly type any value in the cause of loss field on the large loss page.

Utilizing a cause of loss identifier with each large loss you enter can be useful when analyzing a mod. By entering the cause of loss, you will be able to generate reports that sort and group the losses by this field and show the total impact on the mod for each given cause of loss. This may assist you in identifying trends or areas where loss prevention or loss control should be focused.

To add an entry to this list, simply scroll down to the blank record marked with an '*", or click the "Add" button on the toolbar. Then type the desired entry in the blank text box and press Enter.

To edit an entry, click on the desired text box and make any needed changes. To delete an entry, click on the desired text box, then click the "Delete" button on the toolbar.

Rating data (overview)

view the video clip

The rating data overview lists all states included in the ModMaster rating database and shows the most recent effective date of the rating data. Historical data is contained in the database, but only the most recent effective date is shown on this page. To view the specific data for a given state and code, click on the desired state and indicate the desired payroll code in the pop-up dialog prompt.

Rating data (state level)

The exact data shown on this page will vary depending on the state, but in general, the payroll code, expected loss rate (ELR), discount rate, and effective date will be shown. While we encourage you to contact us if you question whether any rates are incorrect, you can use this page to modify the rates by simply overtyping the desired fields with new values, or using the "Add" button on the toolbar to go to a new blank record and add rating values for any payroll code. Note that the next update will overwrite any changes you have made, so this is another reason to contact us if you believe we have incorrect or incomplete rating data.

In the event of certain system failures (such as power outages, network failures, etc.), mod files or ModMaster system files may become locked so that they cannot be opened or calculated. The free locks function frees all locks on all ModMaster files. A system administrator may need to use this function on the advice of ModMaster support personnel. All other users must be out of the system before this function is invoked.

Compact/repair
