ModMaster WebHelp:
What-If Analysis

WebHelp Table of Contents

 Tutorial

The What-If Analysis page is where you can perform various what-if analyses on the active mod file. Specific options may be disabled or grayed out if there is no active file selected or if the active file does not use the NCCI calculation methodology.

For files using the NCCI calculation methodology, the analysis functions include the:

  • Formula Calculator: See and experiment with how the major components of the experience modification formula affect the calculation.

  • Mod Forecaster: Forecast next year's mod based on aggregate estimates that you provide for the most recent year's actual losses and payroll.

  • Deductible Analyzer: Define deductibles and assess how their application would affect the modification factor.

For files using the PA/DE calculation methodology, only the Formula Calculator for PA/DE is available.

For files using the NJ calculation methodology, no What-If Analysis is currently available due to the complexities of the calculation. However,  you can perform an effective mod projection by creating a new rollover file of the NJ mod and entering estimated payroll and loss information for the new year of data.  The mod calculated will be an estimate until you receive final rate changes (if any are pending) and verify that the loss and payroll data you estimated were valid.
