Specific Software
Solutions Releases Loss Forecaster Version 5 Beta
Brentwood, TN, December 1, 2006 --
Officials
from Specific Software Solutions announced today that Loss
Forecaster Version 5, a notable upgrade to the company's
existing Loss Forecaster II software, is now available in beta release. Loss
Forecaster is used to forecast losses and estimate required reserves for
property and casualty losses. It is supported by Specific Software's
affiliate SIGMA Actuarial Consulting Group.
"Loss Forecaster Version 5 represents
the best of our knowledge in delivering software to the insurance and risk
management industry," said Kory Wells, director of
product development for the company. "We've taken the tried-and-true
calculations from the prior version of Loss Forecaster and applied
the interface of ModMaster Version 4 that is so popular with our
subscriber base. The result is a
product that optimizes both intuitive ease-of-use and actuarially sound
methods."
Loss Forecaster Version 5 features an updated
interface, improved data entry and viewing options, support for more policy
periods and exposures, and extensive online
help with Flash videos that are being produced and posted throughout the
beta phase. The software also includes improved report formats that
automatically include graphs displaying historical and projected pure loss
rates, confidence interval distributions, and estimated required reserves as
appropriate to the analysis.
Existing Loss Forecaster subscribers who
would like to use the beta version can
contact
the company to sign up. The beta period is expected to last through
January 2007, with the full release distributed in phases to all users
shortly thereafter. Per the company's subscription policy, there will be no additional charge
for the upgrade as long as a subscriber's annual account is in good
standing.
