Specific Software Solutions Launches WorkCompEdge.com

Brentwood, TN, September 2, 2008 -- Officials from Specific Software Solutions announced today the availability of WorkCompEdge.com, a web site to help employers reduce workers compensation costs and improve productivity. Supported by Specific Software and its affiliate SIGMA Actuarial Consulting Group, the site delivers work comp education, strategy, tools and community to employers and the insurance and risk management professionals who serve them.

“WorkCompEdge is a natural extension of the knowledge we’ve built over the past 20 years of developing and supporting ModMaster software,” said Specific Software CEO Tim Coomer. ModMaster is used by insurance and risk management professionals nationwide to compute and analyze the workers compensation experience rating factor.  “Our beta test agencies have given us a fantastic response about bringing WorkCompEdge to their clients, so we’re excited to now make the site available to all interested agencies.”

Although employers can directly subscribe to WorkCompEdge, Coomer said, the company anticipates that most employers will become subscribers because they are clients of a WorkCompEdge Member Agency. After an open enrollment period this fall, Limited Exclusivity contracts will be available for agencies in their geographic areas.

Through 15 educational modules and associated downloadable documents and automated tools, WorkCompEdge helps employers with three main goals:

• creating a workplace that prevents injuries and increases productivity

• minimizing premium payments with the right decisions and processes, and

• reducing injury costs with planning and communication
